Pergolas & Trellises

I love a collaboration especially with garden designers. Not much forging here but very neat fabrication skills put to the test with a 1mm tolerance requirement to achieve the halving joints in the steel box section. This pergola is intend to give a seating are a for the client while providing privacy screens and an area for creepers to grow to provide further privacy.

A little something from early last week. A pair of fan trellises which will soon have apricot trees growing up them. Forged tapers from 40x10 flat drawn down under the power hammer to 16 round. All nicely riveted together for a bit of detail and that handy adjustment during manufacture.

Designed and made for a local client this is now a popular piece for garden designers and landscapers. This trellis allows creepers to grow in time but also serves as a decorative piece while the plant is growing and when it is dormant over the winter months.
