Blacksmith Experience Day – Coat Hook Rack

When you make your payment, we will email you a voucher for your ‘Experience Day’. You will need to email us to arrange a date. We will do our best to arrange a day that works for you before, but spaces are limited so we recommend booking early to secure your date.

If the Experience Day is a present, we will honour the same terms for the lucky person you are giving the voucher to, but they will need to confirm the email address used to buy the experience when they book their place.

On this one day experience day you will make a coat hook rack with three leaf hooks to be placed suitably in your home/shed/man cave/caravan.This course covers a range of techniques including forging, texturing leaves, free forming three hooks, free forming the back plate, jig/former use in the vice, marking out holes and hot riveting the final piece together. You will also use our 30 ton hydraulic press for forming the leaves and be present for a power hammer demonstration to show how one of the pre-made pieces is forged. This course is run with a maximum of 6 participants.

On this course you will also:

• Have an introduction chat and a brew
• Be given a workshop tour
• Attend A thorough safety talk and be provided with PPE
• Receive practical demonstrations throughout the day
• Receive attentive tutoring and guidance
• Make use of your own gas forge, anvil and hand tools
• Be provided with a hearty stew or lunch (root vegetables chickpea and spices)
• Forge steel into items that will last a life time
• Use a 30ton hydraulic press

15-17 year olds must be accompanied by an adult that participates in the day. In this instance please purchase two vouchers.
